Central Park Tondo (obv)

A cast of the original art that ultimately became a four inch medallion.

State Senator Morgan, proposer of the Central Park Bill, went on to become governor of New York during the Civil War and a United States Senator during Reconstruction. Born a humble farm boy, he anonymously bequeathed his vast shipping merchant and real estate fortune to institutions that benefit from his largess to this day.
